Do you want your next career move to have an impact on the world? If so, we have a unique opportunity for you to join Caterpillar as a Lead UI/UX Designer. In this role, you serve as the lead machine display architect for a team engaged in the design of frictionless UI experiences, empowering Caterpillar customers to maximize machine productivity.
Specifically, in the role you a can expect to:
Facilitate, generate and execute great user experiences for our customers, dealers and their end users.
Work with stakeholders, venders, creatives and partners to:
Translate customer needs to build the heuristic user experience strategy by applying human-centered and interaction design and
Translate customer needs into wireframes and prototypes
Visually design our future UI/UX strategy.
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications):
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic, Interaction, Industrial, New Media or related Design, HCI (Human Computer Interaction), human factors/ergonomics or a related engineering field. We may consider UI/UX related experience in lieu of a degree. AND
At least 3 years of experience designing user interfaces on a variety of platforms.
Successful experience delivering strategic UI experiences across various applications.
Demonstrated exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, UXPin, Azure, Storybook and/or associated design tools.
Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies across multiple platforms.
Demonstrated ability to listen to customers and stakeholders to visually design new products and features.
Top candidates will also bring:
Demonstrated effective project management skills.
Experience in Interaction Architecture, UI/UX design, Customer Experience and/or User Experience.
A unique combination of technical knowledge, business acumen and strong general and emotional intelligence.
Deep knowledge of UX industry standards, usability and trends in web design.
Experience working with new mobile technologies including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
This position requires up to 10% travel.
Ideally, this position will be in our Mossville, IL facility. We will consider remote work for the ideal candidate who is also willing to regularly travel to Mossville.
