What is the role?
This role would suit an established Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in the latest Industry 4.0 technology, manufacturing process design and systems and will involve the application of sound technical manufacturing engineering skills in both project and process-based environments.
The successful candidate will utilise experience and knowledge gained through exposure to a range of functions and activities within a Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or Process environment to play a key role in the continued success of the company, providing analytical and process expertise necessary to design, develop and implement the necessary processes and systems across IPSD’s global facilities.
This role represents an exciting step forward for individuals wishing to develop their Industry 4.0 knowledge, project leadership skills and their career within Manufacturing Engineering.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities are to include:
Provide Industry 4.0 / manufacturing engineering expertise in project identification and project delivery across our global processes
Successfully introduce and implement multiple change projects into full production by utilisation of production process best practices including cost effective, robust quality solutions
Proactively work with our direct Production Operations customers, Product teams and GIS across our global manufacturing sites to deliver change.
Planning and coordinating the procurement, installation and capability of new processes and systems into manufacturing. Also identifying opportunities for replication.
Project delivery within time and budgetary targets, with demonstration of declared benefits.
Work with external suppliers and research partners to develop POC’s (Proof of concept) and identify potential external funding opportunities.
Be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Manufacturing planning and executions systems and enhancements (Manufacturing BoM, MES and associated systems)
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have good engineering and industry knowledge and a consistent track record of successfully delivering projects within a manufacturing environment. You will have had experience of leading project teams, good communication and stakeholder management skills. You will have a broad business sense with excellent organisational, finance and planning skills and be creative when overcoming obstacles in delivering projects. You will also have effective ‘managing without authority’ skills and be flexible in your outlook.
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant Technical Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
Experience of introducing significant change with proven and innovative manufacturing techniques within the manufacturing environment
Established experience as a Manufacturing / Production Engineer developing and implementing process / assembly solutions
Capable of implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques, utilising problem solving and root cause analysis tools
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the business and build strong working relationships across the global sites.
Some travel will be required (5-10% of working time)
Knowledge of Implementing Industry 4.0 initiatives
Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as ERP, PLM or manufacturing execution systems
