Coordinates and leads a technical authoring team in the documentation of NPI and CPI projects for Medium Wheel Loaders, Defense Products, and OEM Transmissions, ensuring the completed projects meet customer expectations for content, accuracy, and timeliness.
This position leads a technical authoring team comprised of service information developers to complete various documentation on assigned NPI and CPI projects. Incumbents are experts in product knowledge and product servicing procedures for assigned products and in the SIS Authoring (ACM) process. Accountable for ensuring the work group completes the assignments on time and information is technically accurate and complete. Works with product groups, dealers and others to ensure appropriate service information is provided. Incumbents guide the information development process and assist work group members in gathering information from various sources to ensure service technicians have the information needed to maintain and repair assigned products.
Position requires a four year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical subject
1+ year of technical writing experience
1+ year of repair and maintenance experience in heavy machinery, automotive, motorcycle/ATV, agriculture, or aviation products
5+ years of repair and maintenance experience in heavy machinery, automotive, motorcycle/ATV, agriculture, or aviation products are acceptable in lieu of a four year degree
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience in structured HTML/XML authoring systems such as SIS Authoring/ACM
Previous experience writing service information for Caterpillar products
Technical authoring project management experience
