Description

As an Embedded Software Senior Engineer with the Energy & Transportation Power Systems team, you will engage in the design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar Electronic Systems and Controls supporting the Oil & Gas and Electric Power Generation industries.  Areas of responsibility include contribution to strategy and architecture design, and implementation of software and control strategies. This position requires technical knowledge of electronic systems, software development, and control strategies. Experience in developing Linux based embedded software is of particular interest.  Key focus for this position is development of Caterpillar products to serve the Oil & Gas industry.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
Design, optimization, and implementation of software strategies using C and/or Matlab Simulink
Work with development team and program leads to integrate software into platform
Unit test and verify software strategies in bench and lab environments

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
4+ years of work experience with C/C++ and/or model-based programming in an embedded control environment

Top Candidates will also have
Experience developing software for Linux based embedded systems
Emphasis on initiative and strong technical insight
Experience using version control tools, such as Git
Experience/ familiarity with Oil & Gas applications
Demonstrated clear commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Strong analytical skills 
Desire to work in a fast paced, team environment

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position

This position may require less than 10% travel
