As the Strategy Manager and Chief of Staff to the General Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead strategies in aftermarket services growth for Wear Components aligned with the Enterprise Component Strategy. You will partner with the General Manager, Product Managers, Life Cycle Managers and Business Development Managers within Specialty Products along with enterprise partners in Cat Digital, RI, CI, DSD as needed to deliver our Enterprise Component Strategies. This position will be responsible for helping drive project performance and results.
Engage with component product teams to compile, document, and update the various product strategies focused on the PSLD transformation portfolio.
Manage governance structure needed to successfully execute all projects in the component’s transformation portfolio is a critical element of the role.
Represent components organization on the PSLD Transformation team to ensure portfolio alignment and issue resolution.
Lead special projects for the General Manager. These projects are typically cross-functional and strategic in nature and require an experienced project leader.
Serves overall staff needs for the General Manager of the business unit. Responsibilities include preparing agendas for GM staff meetings, supporting the GM with presentation creation, etc.
Complete individual complex programs and/or multiple programs or projects of a large scope simultaneously.
Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of program and project management schedules. Accountable to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and scope.
Lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful projects or programs for the customer and for the company.
Manage the interactions and relationships between multiple, interrelated projects and builds credibility, establish rapport and maintain communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization.
Manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making.
Monitor progress of projects, discuss problems with affected areas, assure appropriate personnel are informed of problems and steps are in place to meet schedules.
Validate new projects/activities for proper alignment with program objectives and strategies.
Develop, track, manage and communicate the program management plan and status (scope, schedule, cost, resource, risk, quality, communication, change, etc.) to optimize the program and achieve quality, on-time, on and on budget deliverables.
Communicate project and program interdependencies and escalate and participate in resolution of all program issues and participate and drive decision making that accomplishes strategic objectives.
Assist in developing current and desired states to identify, prioritize and analyze gaps, developing the program MGPP, scope, and stakeholder documents.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
8 + years of progressively responsible job-related experience
Top candidates will also have
Experience with Enterprise Component Strategies, Aftermarket Growth Agreements and/or Transformation Office governance
Previous experience in international business environments
Advanced degree from an accredited university
This position requires a broad company background and experience in program management
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, or persuade others inside and outside the organization to take specific actions
Previous leadership experience, either as a supervisor or project lead
Strong data analytics background to identify gaps in business data and develop views for leadership decision making.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports to support decision making
Demonstrated experience working across the matrix and influencing others to take action
Experience presenting and interacting with executive leaders

This position does offer relocation.
This position requires 10% or less travel.
