Job Purpose
Facilitate program and project workshops, plan development and compression sessions, plan control meetings, and other project meetings independently. Understand and adhere to divisional and corporate governance processes (NPI, L-NPI, etc.)
Job Duties
This project management professional staff position requires an employee who is extremely experienced in Project Management tools and processes. Included but not limited to: the ability to facilitate projects, lead chartering sessions, develop / validate network diagrams, lead integration and compression sessions. This staff position is a recognized expert within the work group, can function as a team lead, and works independently with minimal supervision.
Specific work assignments may be as follows: Initiate, plan, and lead program and project planning sessions. The incumbent will function independently in leading a large, diverse program, as well as plan highly complex projects related to NPI, CPI, and CPS. Responsibilities also include preparation and pre-work for the session, ensuring the project leader / sponsor is prepared, as well as follow up and action ownership. The position will mentor / coach the leadership team and address leadership issues one-on-one with senior divisional and department management. Incumbent will act proactively to mitigate issues within the team that effect program management and ensure high team engagement.
The developer must have the ability to adapt to diverse business climates. Under the leadership of the incumbent, he/she must be able to control the planning sessions – able to stop any side bar conversations constructively, and they must be able to keep the team focused on the objectives. On behalf of project leaders and sponsors, developer will provide input for staffing and support of programs and create accurate and detailed schedules.
The developer position will initiate projects for any functional organization and ensure they are rapidly stable so as to successfully hand off projects to Program Coordinators. The incumbent will also mentor, coach, and train other Program Coordinators, individual project managers, and project teams in program management processes and software.
Interpret & communicate Voice of the Customer (VOC), Voice of Business (VOB), and Critical Customer Requirements (CCR) to develop a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to reduce program risk and enhance project schedule quality. In lieu of utilizing outside consultants, this position will facilitate and lead large program planning sessions.
Travel is required for this position, including travel outside the US.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
12+ years of job-related experience
Project management experience
Excellent interpersonal skills
Team leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Top Candidates will also have
Project Management Certification such as PMP, Scrum Master, etc
College degree in a technical field
Professional training in leading and facilitating meetings
6 Sigma Black Belt
