The Industrial Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Facility Engineering Technologist located in Mossville, IL. As the Facility Engineering Technologist, for the Facilities Engineering & Operations Support Team, your primary role is to develop, implement, and own mechanical standards & processes. The overall aim will be to ensure that all facility processes are carried out in the safest, most time-efficient and cost-effective way possible. This will be achieved through the review and modification of existing processes, as well as design and implementation of new processes and procedures. All tasks will be performed in strict accordance with internal policies and SOPs as well as any relevant external regulations. To ensure full compliance, maintaining accurate documentation is critical to the role.
In this role you will lead or support projects and have accountability for various tasks.
Defining the scope of a project.
Designing build or test cell systems.
Specifying components
Quoting, budgeting, and delivering projects on time, including material procurement, build, commissioning, and supplier invoicing.
In addition to the above, you will become a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more mechanical facility systems. You will be asked to provide expertise and training for your functional area, in support of the Operations Team, for test cell issue resolution. You will also work with skilled trades.
A Facility Engineering Technologist in the Facility & Support team will be asked to demonstrate skills/knowledge in the following:
CAD - Pro-E/CREO (3D modeling) , AutoDesk/AutoCAD , print reading, GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance), TeamCenter and HVC)
Thermodynamics - heating/cooling, structures, statics, etc.
Metering and controllers - Coriolis meter, Roots meter, density positive displacement meter, torque meters, valves, etc.
Dynamometers - AC/DC motors &drives, eddy current, hydraulic pump, & water brake
Drivelines – splines, transmissions, torque converters, gearboxes, differentials, axles, planetary, etc.
FEA – CREO Simulate, etc.
Life safety systems - MSA, camera, intrinsically safe transducers, intrinsically safe detection, etc.
National standards - ASME, ASTM, NFPA, National Electric Code, etc.
Measurement transducers - pressure, linear, thermocouple, C.T., V.T, RTD, etc.
Safety & Quality processes - LOTO (lock out, tag out, try out), SW (standard work), SJP (safe job procedures), PHA (preliminary hazard analysis, CI (continuous improvement), FMEA (failure mode effects analysis), & 5 Star
Project management -VM manager, Gantt charts, etc.
You will support systems including:
Air handling (engine exhaust, combustion air, and cell ventilation)
Fluid supply/return (jacket, glycol, DEF, oil, steam, chilled, SCAC, Nalcool, etc.)
Heat exchangers (tube & shell and plate & frame)
Dynamometers
Cooling towers and chillers
Steam and Condensate
Air Compressors
Fuel supply/return (diesel, propane, natural gas, carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrogen)
Refrigeration
Instrumentation infrastructure
Cell Safety
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in technology required
* 5+ years of facilities engineering experience
* Previous design experience (CAD, Pro-E, etc.)
