As a Marketing Representative, you will begin your development in a 4-month Marketing Training Class. Following the training class, you will enter rotational assignments tailored to an industry or distribution service (dealer development) career path. Rotational assignments will be focused on developing industry and product application knowledge as well as a strong understanding of the Caterpillar Dealer network.
This is an entry-level position designed to build the employees skill sets within a specific industry and to help prepare them for future rep positions.
The primary role of a Product Support and Operations Representative (PSOR) is to assist Cat dealerships in increasing operational efficiency. By increasing operational efficiency, dealers can provide a better customer experience, support more machines within their territory, and ultimately sell more parts and services.

Finally, PSORs must be able to liaise and cultivate trust between Caterpillar and the Cat dealers. Often a PSOR must help a dealer prioritize and execute projects. The ability to prioritize initiatives based on all available information is an important skill for PSORs. Often these decisions are made with little supervision, so being able to make decisions independently is also important.
You will rotate throughout different business areas during your developmental phase as well as a dealer location to gain additional experience. Following completion of the rotational assignments (approximately 36 months), you will move to a field-based position supporting Caterpillar Dealers and customers.
While the primary position is based in Mexico candidates will have the expectation to rotate throughout the country and United States in order to gain additional experience.

* Currently attending a 4-year accredited university/college (all applicants must have degree in hand prior to start date) or have completed a minimum bachelor’s degree in one of the following degree programs within the last 5 years:
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 (no rounding)
* Must be willing to travel extensively (50 – 70%)
* Must be willing to relocate domestically/internationally based upon business need.
* Must be proficient in English and Spanish
* Must be able to relocate to the United States for training
* Good communication, leadership, interpersonal, influence and collaboration skills
* Previous technical internship or entry-level marketing experience
* Demonstrated technical and non-technical aptitudes
* Demonstrated ability to work independently
* Project Management experience
* Intermediate proficiency with any of the following equipment: - Construction Equipment - Mining Equipment - Diesel Engines - Natural Gas Engines - On-Highway Trucks
SummaryJOB PURPOSE: To help the incumbents prepare for a field assignment in an industry group or Distribution Service Division. The incumbents will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the assigned division (Industry/DSD) through planned rotations designed to develop industry or dealer operational expertise. JOB RELATED STATISTICS: Indeterminate JOB DUTIES: The incumbents will report to a Marketing Recruiting & Development Supervisor and begin their development in a 3-month Marketing Training Class. Following the training class, incumbents will enter rotational assignments tailored to an industry or distribution service developmental path. Rotational assignments and measurement of progress will be the responsibility of the supervisor. The incumbents will be expected to contribute to the division's objectives; emphasis will be on developing skills and experience in objective setting, project planning, deadline responsibility, budget and cost control as well as implementation and follow-up methods. The incumbents will receive guidance and direction on projects from their on-site manager as well as their Recruiting & Development Supervisor. The incumbents will learn the following skills while working in the assigned divisions (depending on assigned rep development path): Sales/Market Development (Industry/Parts Sales Path) - Analyze sales opportunities; develop product comparisons; review pricing practices, product improvement programs, new product information releases, competitive information releases, various communications media, etc; and make product presentations. Develop an understanding of the industries Caterpillar serves and the value customers receive from each of our products. Learn Caterpillar brand attributes and advocate proper usage of Caterpillar design marks. Process Development and Implementation (Dealer Operations Path) – Learn the role of the M&PS COE and assist with projects related to global dealer operational excellence. Assist the DSD in analysis of dealer practices and implementation of recommended improvements. Service Tech Support (Industry Service Path) – Develop an understanding of assigned product line and product application and be able to articulate product issues as well as proposed solutions. Develop a network of service engineering teams to assist with product/application questions. Understand Caterpillar warranty/goodwill policies and apply effectively in support of field related issues. The incumbents will rotate through any of the above areas in their developmental phase as well as a dealer location to gain additional experience. Time in developmental assignments will vary according to an incumbent's performance (total of 3 yrs typical). Upon successful completion of the assigned rep development guide and assessment by Developmental Supervisor, they will be promoted to a class S/G 21 field position in one of the M/EBDs or Distribution Service Divisions. BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires a marketing or engineering degree or the equivalent. Strong desire to relocate based on business needs.
