A Logistics Analyst in the East Peoria Supply Chain Organization is responsible for ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of quality material in support of facility Operational Objectives. In addition to material availability, the Logistics Analyst will be responsible for executing and improving strategies for material planning and inventory optimization. Finally, the Logistics Analyst will help to identify and resolve material planning grief and work collaboratively within the organization as well as with external vendors, carriers up to and including the Executive level at some suppliers.

                                                                             

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Working under the leadership of the Material Requirements Planning Supervisor, ensure material is shipped, received, stored or delivered quickly and efficiently. Perform tasks to improve inbound and outbound material flow.  Using CPS Guiding Principles, participate in continuous improvement projects:

  • Manage material to defined flowpaths
  • Identify constraints and work to relieve bottlenecks in material flow
  • Recommend transportation options based on evaluated customer needs
  • Follow RCCA process as it relates to performance of suppliers and carriers
  • Support efforts to improve total cost based on pre-defined PFEP inputs
  • Manage inventory based on pre-defined turns targets

Schedules supplier deliveries through analysis and collaboration. Performs tasks that support carrier collaboration, smooth operation of milk runs, coordination of third party logistics services, plant logistics, and supporting supermarkets and kitting processes. Responsible for optimizing production stores inventory, ensuring availability of needed materials and minimizing surplus in accordance with PFEP strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, preferably into Supply Chain
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience

Top candidates will also have:

  • Awareness and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification desired
  • Data analytics skills, training, or experience desired
  • Ability to independently identify and pursue improvement opportunities
  • Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or Transportation Management
  • Material handling experience
