Job Description:

Position includes administration, technical, operations, maintenance, and repairs associated with Solar Turbines turbo-machinery and industrial equipment applications. Technical scope includes varying project industrial equipment and custom configurations including power generation and distribution, thermal applications and distribution, and mechanical applications. Safely performing routine operational testing and adjustments on all facility equipment. Conducting chemical analysis of boiler-water/feed-water systems: manage the customer influent and effluent plant.
Work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime as required. 

This position offers are 10% geographical pay on the base pay.

Rotating 12 Hour Shifts
7 AM to 7 PM (2 weeks)
7 PM to 7 AM (2 weeks)


Rotating Schedule
2 ON / 2 OFF
3 ON / 2 OFF

 

Minimum Qualifications :

Candidate must be able to obtain an approval letter from the State of Connecticut to test for the OE-2 Licence by qualifying with one of the below. For more info visit the Department of Consumer Protection website.
 

  • 60 months of documented experience as an active Operating Stationary engineer, that may include:​

    • 1 year of credit for 6 credit hours of classes or continuing education units in boiler safety or operations; and 

    • 1 year of credit for holding a unlimited plumbing license or;

    • 3 year of credit for holding a limited heating or cooling license

  • The completion of an operating stationary engineer training program of not less than three years as approved by the Department and 12 months of documented experience as an Operating Stationary engineer trainee performing work in or related to physical power plants associated with buildings or manufacturing;

  • A 4-year degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college and 12 months of documented experience as a Operating Stationary engineer trainee performing work in or related to physical power plants associated with buildings or manufacturing.; OR Licensure as a professional engineer and 12 months of documented experience as a Operating Stationary engineer trainee performing work in or related to physical power plants associated with buildings or manufacturing., or 

A valid marine engineer’s certificate or Chief Petty Officer’s certificate in a discipline approved by the Department from the United States Navy and 12 months of documented experience as a Operating Stationary engineer trainee performing work in or related to physical power plants associated with buildings or manufacturing.
 

Additional Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum of a High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • Approval letter from the State of Connecticut to sit for the OE-2 Licence. For more info visit:Department of Consumer Protection

  • Possess a valid agency issued drivers license with acceptable driving record

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to read electrical and mechanical P&ID’s are required

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds from floor to waist and 20 pounds in awkward positions

  • Must be able to work from ladders and elevated walkways and possible confined spaces

  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
