Job Summary:


The Product Manager will lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure a robust business model for low-volume parts and optimizing OPACC-C by evaluating the four levers of data hygiene, inventory, cost, and price. Strategy development and execution, as well as leadership to drive permanent corrective actions, processes, and solutions based on the team’s learning, are critical deliverables of the role. 


As the leader for the Caterpillar Cross-Vertical Transformation portfolio that includes workstreams 3 and 6/7 (Business model for low-volume parts and optimize OPACC-C, respectively), you will be responsible for providing leadership to multi-functional teams across the enterprise, our division (Product Support & Logistics Division – PSLD), and across various disciplines.


This role directly manages a team in PSLD and indirectly leads other teams in the enterprise for collaboration, ensuring efficiency and OPACC gains. The role reports directly to the Transformation General Manager of PSLD and is critical in the execution of PSLD’s and the enterprise’s strategy in support of the Services, Dealer & Digital (SD&D) portfolio for maximizing profitable growth for the enterprise.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

This role requires a long-range focus on business strategy and a strong background in project management, with positive results achieved by delivering sizable programs and projects through completion on time and in alignment with goals. Decisions or recommendations resulting from the workstream will have significant impact on the division and ultimately the enterprise.

  •        Create long-term vision and direction for the portfolio and translate it into a series of near-term and long-range actions

  •        Identify strategies and functional plans to achieve the greatest OPACC gains

  •        Supervise a group of management and/or salaried employees, where planning, scheduling, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required, and ensure development and training of team

  •        Perform financial analysis and generate any reports required by General Manager or higher levels of leadership

  •        Monitor the workstreams’ progress and re-direct project leads as necessary to ensure successful attainment of goals

  •        Present progress regularly in a variety of meetings to a variety of audiences and in a variety of formats

  •        Establish and foster collaborative relationships with process partners outside the division

  •        Collaborate with Change-Management and Communications Strategists to communicate process changes across the enterprise

  •        Drive engagement and high-performance culture while demonstrating Caterpillar leadership attributes 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  •        Holds a university degree (preferably engineering or business) and 15 years job-related experience

  •        5-10+ years prior supervision experience with ability to share examples of creating a vision and leading change

  •        10+ years performing financial analysis and preparing strategic plans, leveraging strong analytical skills

  •        10+-years proven track record of leveraging excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, gain consensus, and persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific action

  • 10+-years proven track record of setting bold goals, creating strategies to achieve those goals, and turning strategies into action

  • Knowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its customers, products, policies, and procedures
  • Deep understanding of company Parts information and product support processes/strategy
  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop clear communications and presentation materials to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to adapt to multiple cultures; fluent in English
  • Experience in formal project management
