Demand Planning Data Scientist

 

In our business and the industries we cover, data is generated continuously by the hundred thousand Cat equipment running around the globe and thousands of transactions within our value chain. Increasingly, managing data correctly has resulted in greater competitive advantages and as the Demand Planning organization within RIOP (Resource Industries Operations and Product group), we drive demand signals processes to ensure our organization delivers the right parts at the right time.

As Demand Planning Data Scientist, you will join a team which focus on discovering the future of demand planning through analytics.

You will be responsible for supporting the change between manual demand planning process to an automated data based process which will help increase our current population coverage, provide meaningful information to dealers and increase our demand planning window.

 You should have business and communication skills and able to explain complex solutions to people from various functions and hierarchical levels.

You are comfortable to work in challenging environments with a contagious passion for data analytics and how it drives change.

By Joining the demand planning team, your contributions will drive the next generation of demand planning decisions and forecasting actions taken in Resource Industries Operations and Product group. You will also join a team of demand planners with the support of a network of analysts from multiple Cat divisions, helping you grow your business understanding and Analytical skills.

·       Provide relevant visualization to generate Insight

·       Leverage problem-solving & data science skills to create algorithms and on-demand analysis for demand planning development

·       Lead on establishing data requirements according to business objectives, as well as maintain data environment for the team


15% travel percentage
Coverage: worldwide

The position must be based in Geneva head office on the local payroll. The incumbent must have a valid work permit (G,B,C) or be a Swiss national. No relocation support will be granted.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

·       Understand business needs and key decisions points

·       Deliver insight to support the above decisions

·       Provide relevant visualization to generate Insight

·       Leverage problem-solving & data science skills to create algorithms and on-demand analysis for demand planning development

·       Lead on establishing data requirements according to business objectives, as well as maintain data environment for the team

Required Skills:

·       3+ years of Data scientist experience

·       Very strong analytical skills

·       Robust knowledge of R and / or Python

·       Robust visualization skills (Tableau /PowerBI)

·       (Please provide examples of the above as part of application)

 

Desired Skills:

·       Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent

·       Ability to work with technical & non-technical stakeholders with the ability to take & deliver Analysis & Insight. 

·       Knowledge of Alteryx

·       Knowledge of data warehouses ( i.e: Snowflakes, SQL,...) & more

·       Data-Experienced :

o   Subject matter expert on data best practices

o   Attention to details

o   Developed from scratch databases from multiple initial sources with a BI end purpose

o   Knowledge of Data Governance practices and processesy.
