Job Title: Senior Information Technology Analyst
Salary £47,000 -£59,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

An opportunity has arisen with the Energy and Transportation IT group, to work with various business teams, key implementation partners and internal enterprise groups to provide oversight and technical leadership in the use of Salesforce, specifically in the use of Salesforce Service Cloud. This role will work within the IT group to help sustain the value of the use of existing platforms and provide technical guidance on how to realise business requirements to meet new business opportunities.

Provides application and technical leadership in the development of detailed system specifications for Salesforce applications, integration and implementation projects. Applies systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions, and by providing assistance to less experienced analysts in the design, programming, debugging, testing, and integration/implementation of complex, medium to large-sized automated information technology systems. This role will be responsible for the FG Wilson Salesforce org as well as acting as a solution architecture for projects. Responsibilities also include managing service levels, costs, and timelines for projects.  Also responsible for providing security and architecture guidance across multiple Energy & Transportation Salesforce orgs.


JOB DUTIES:

This position reports to an IT Supervisor, Senior IT Supervisor or IT Manager, as do other staff jobs in application systems and technical infrastructure sections. Primary responsibility of this role will lie with Salesforce technologies, and will also touch related and integrated systems.  Responsibilities of the incumbents are across functional lines with individuals assigned development projects, and/or maintenance, of existing mainframe, personal computer, server, Local Area and Wide Area Network, WEB, and/or distributed computing systems and infrastructure.

1. Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work;
2. Acts as team leader for development and support groups; provides programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members;

• Provide the technical leadership between business analysts and Salesforce capability to assess the most appropriate solution(s).
• Assist business process owners and subject matter experts to exploit the Salesforce platform
• Work with Solution lead to maintain a clear and prioritised backlog.
• Have accountability for Service level Management of the environment as well as provide leadership for the offshore support team.
• Oversee and sign off design from implementation partners
• Assist with onboarding of new development resource to ensure they understand standard processes and procedures
• Assist IT Manager and Architect with the development of IT roadmap
• Create and maintain relationships with key business owners, with the goal to understand value generation opportunities
• Work with Enterprise resources to understand Salesforce initiatives across Caterpillar and where there are replication opportunities.
• Support design and implementation of complex integration patterns and data models for strategic business projects.
• Identify functional gaps in proposed solutions and initiate technology evaluation when required.
• Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls;
• Works independently on complex systems that may be used by one or more applications or systems;
• Develops major system modules, programs or integrates infrastructure components based on requirements gathered from customers
• Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results;
• Fully knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components; can provide training on these topics for others;
• Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions;
• Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results;
• Fully knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components; can provide training on these topics for others;
• Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions;

Qualifications

 BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Requires a relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.

The incumbent should be knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages; computing hardware and software; infrastructure elements, and current development processes and tools.

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

• Experienced in Salesforce Service, Sales and Marketing Cloud
• Experience as a Salesforce Administrator
• Background in Visualforce, Visual Workflow, APEX, Process Builder
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of integration technologies, including demonstrating how and why Salesforce can integrate with ERP systems for example.
• Show a clear understanding of the full development lifecycle
• Excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills
• Strong accountability, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
