JOB PURPOSE: The Senior Sales and Leadership Instructor will provide strategic direction and execution on open enrollment and ad-hoc Sales and Leadership Instructor-Led Training offerings to increase green dollar revenue.


Working in conjunction with a Supervisor and Organizational Development (OD) Consultant team, the incumbent will enable active communication for the increased district and dealer awareness and participation in existing Instructor-Led Training programs as well as evaluate new revenue opportunities for ILT.

 

This role's primary focus is instructor-led training facilitation and development of sales and leadership training instructors. This role will work closely with process owners, dealer learning consultants, and external vendors to develop and implement Sales and Leadership ILT solutions. Organizational development activities include project leadership of cross-functional teams focused on global solutions related to instructor-led training facilitation, deployment of learning, learning impact and engagement, learning technology, and learning recognition.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Sales and Leadership Instructor-Led course delivery with 70-100 days of virtual or face-to-face teaching per year
  • Design and deploy an instructor sourcing program to enable international/localized course offerings, manage relationships with ILT vendors (3rd party instructors), manage vendor invoices
  • Design and deploy instructor development process for both internal and external Sales/Leadership instructors aligned with Caterpillar's Instructor Accreditation Program, drive the consistent and high-quality standard of performance of internal and 3rd party instructors.
  • Promote open enrollment sales and leadership training offerings directly with district teams in support of Marketing & Sales Excellence programs, provide administration support for course offerings
  • Lead content revisions and updates to sustain long term course health, facilitate ILT new development, and drive consistent & high-quality instruction in owned and licensed training content.
  • Work independently and is accountable for accomplishing individual goals with regular follow-up and coaching.
  • Achieve project goals by leading or participating in projects as a team member or subject matter expert.
  • Utilize, monitor, and continuously improve products, processes, and services used for working with our customers.
  • Influence decision-makers with the support of supervisor and peers to maximize organizational effectiveness to achieve business results
  • Collaborate effectively with peers across the enterprise to design, develop, and deploy effective OD solutions considering Caterpillar's business's global nature.
 

Additional Information:

  • No relocation assistance is provided for this role
  • This position may travel up to 50% depending upon if and when normal travel is allowed again along with international travel

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Position requires 3+ years of experience facilitating Sales and Leadership Instructor-led training courses
  • 1+ year of experience delivering instructor-led training in a virtual format
 
 Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Certified Instructor of Leadership training from institutions such as Ken Blanchard, International Thought Leader Network, or Development Dimensions International
  • Knowledge of the Global Dealer Learning programs and tools
  • Experience working with Caterpillar learning and development programs that impact dealers
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to collaborate and provide leadership to diverse team to deliver results within aggressive timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Caterpillar’s business model and corporate strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage and influence a diverse audience
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make changes as needed to resolve issue
  • Ability to facilitate and speak in front of groups
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
