The Industrial Powers Systems Division currently has two Service Engineer positions located in Mossville, IL. In this role you will monitor the health for IPSD-LE current production engine models. Provide service engineering support to launch, resolve and communicate CPI issues related to engine performance for IPSD in America’s. Be the main contact for Performance related engine issues in North/South America for IPSD. Provide Tier 3 level support for DSN Tier 2 analysts.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
•Responsible for monitoring C7-C18
engine health for performance related issued including software and engine
•Identify engine control systems issues, and define the problem in terms of symptoms, application, and conditions.
•Work with dealers and engineering to determine root cause of the problem and collect any information needed to support the issue.
•Work with engineering to provide better guidance on interim corrective actions to the field quickly to minimize warranty impact.
•Participate in developing permanent corrective actions for the problem, validating the solution and publishing corrective actions.
•Publications will include service magazines, engine news, technical information bulletin’s and service letters.
•Initiate product improvement programs through PIP / PSP warranty program preparation to address commercial / business impact of field problems.
•Provide product support to dealer personnel, machine product service engineering groups, design engineers, service technical representatives (GCI, Forestry, Industrial, BCP, Mining, etc).
•Conduct dealer and customer visits to personally provide technical assistance on urgent field problems when necessary.
•Provide IPSD DSN Tier 2 analysts guidance on difficult DSN tickets and work with engineering to answer any unresolved questions.
•Requires a Bachelors’ degree in
Engineering or 5+ years of product related and/or field experience.
•High level of product knowledge capability and good mechanical aptitude and analytical ability.
•Proficient analytics tools user
•Intermediate knowledge of customer solutions (parts products, service offerings, solution offerings)
•SC2 and Product link working knowledge
•Working knowledge of Cat engine control strategies
•Strong mechanical aptitude and
•Must possess good human relations and communications skills
•Strong business acumen
