This is a lean team manager role, this role will lead the BB team drive the process improvement, covered lean deployment, CPS, six sigma project management, strategy deployment. It is not only the project management but the whole management system set up, lean culture built up. For six sigma projects, we have achieved 1.47M USD OPACC in 2019 and 0.5M OPACC in 2020. Since it is a management system, it will impact all CXL employees, over 20-50 projects every year and 100 plus lean events such like workshops, RIWs, trainings, audits, Kaizens etc. Those are all Unser the management from this role.
The Operational Excellence Manager will act as a change management expert and functional champion to reimagine processes and help instill a continuous improvement mindset across the organization. This role will leverage the Lean Six Sigma framework and lean thinking to lead lean transformation and drive critical projects that deliver year over year cost savings. Meanwhile also lead for facility strategy deployment, execution and governance. This role is an effective project leader, teacher, and coach for all activities driving lean.
The Operational Excellence Manager will be a change agent who can effectively motivate and influence cross functional and departmental teams sometimes without direct authority; partner with leaders to drive change, teach and train others, empower and drive continuous improvement (CI), and positively affect results. This position will supervise and manage a team of employees dedicated to driving Lean execution within the organization.
Operational Excellence Manager will provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams empowered to execute the Continuous Improvement strategy for efficiency, ease of doing business, and overall cost savings. Design and establish effective lean management and execution system, promote lean thinking and culture.
The role will identify potential process improvement projects whenever and wherever possible. Monitor progress and intervene when needed, and work across functions to rally and lead teams in order to solve problems.
This role will facilitate the factory GM to deploy the operating strategy, aligning the targets, plan and cascading to each team, governance the execution progress and ensure achieving the targets.
The position supervises or manages a work unit of management or salaried employees and hourly employees where planning, scheduling, and monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
Work with leaders, other project managers, managers, work-stream leaders and teams to uncover and assess process improvement opportunities through all phases of planning, implementation and control. Ensure that processes are measured, monitored and controlled through Standard work.
Develop and maintain dashboards/KPIs for reporting against defined targets. Focus will be on the removal of any unnecessary waste from the processes while producing high quality output. Gather data and analyze to make predictions, assess trends, and map out future processes.
Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and the business strategy.
This position has significant impact on the success of the Lean transformation within an organization and will create a safer place to work, improve the company’s ability to meet customer expectations, improve quality, reduce cycle times, reduce cost and increase profits. It will change or improve wasteful elements across the organization and lead construction of new or improved leaner processes.
Be a results-oriented change agent who is proficient in the use of Lean tools and methodologies. Effectively facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of process improvement tools & methodology (TQM, CPS, Lean, Six Sigma, VSM, etc.). Facilitate Kaizen events and drive best practices to strengthen continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.
Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices. Support and mentor other change champions across the business to enhance our Lean culture.
At a minimum, the individual must be or have been formally trained in Lean and six sigma methodology and have experience in project management, and operating management. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Business or an equivalent level of work experience. 5+ years of professional level experience within the assigned organization preferred. Prior supervisory experience is a plus. Should have project management skills, strong team leadership skills, Strategic thinking and good communication skills. Demonstrated effective communication to hourly employees, peers, and management. Expected to promote the innovation culture and embrace the new technical to drive process excellence, Ability to navigate through ambiguity and identify potential paths forward. Demonstrated ability to exercise influence without authority. Demonstrated high level performance in current or previous position. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Preferred experience coaching and delivering training at all levels of an organization. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; statistically literate and familiar with process improvement tools (CPS, Lean, Six Sigma, VSM, etc.) Strong oral and written communication skills Professional and mature interpersonal and leadership skills. This position will possess a strong people skill, superior analytical skills, and a strong desire to challenge the status quo.
