Caterpillar products set the standard for the industry and we fully expect to continue to hold this position through the continual evolution of existing products, design and launch of new products and the integration of leading-edge technologies.  As products are developed is it critical to maintain a high level of quality in the development process.  We have an excellent career opportunity for a Quality Process Owner to lead these efforts for our Medium Tractor Products (MTP). 

 
As the Quality Process Owner, you can expect to:
  • Track progress towards MTP quality targets and refine proactive metrics to ensure the future quality of the product line
  • Train and track product development teams in MTP quality process to ensure defect free machine introductions
  • Manage Advanced Product Quality Performance (APQP) conformance for all MTP product development programs
  • Lead teams through “reflection events” to continually improve our processes
  • Coordinate across product groups to share best practices

Qualifications

The successful candidate must bring (Basic Qualifications):
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or a related field and at least 12 years engineering experience or the equivalent combination of advanced degree and experience.
  • Deep expertise with APQP and related processes
  • Experience with product development and quality processes within Caterpillar
  • Experience working cross functionally between manufacturing facilities, supply chain, purchasing, and design teams
 
 
Top Candidates will also bring:
  • An understanding of tractors and tractor quality processes
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar quality tracking/management systems (PPAP, AQE, ETQ, Q&R)
  • Good ability to work amongst diverse people and resolve conflicts
