Job Description


As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for facility performance levels to corporate targets for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results. You will lead facility efforts to develop and implement the Plan for Every Part, Pull material Replenishment and improved throughput efficiency.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for performing work to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results
* Coordinates and manages a performance portfolio for multiple, cross functional work teams deploying the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops the Plan for Every Part and Pull Replenishment methods for a facility
* Leads team efforts to gather and analyze data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production based on daily demand buckets for 120 work days
* Leads team efforts to develop material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production
* Leads the work of Supply Chain Planning Analysts in the documentation of this data into the Plan for Every Part web tool
* Supports facility efforts to implement pull material replenishment where appropriate by leading pull deployment teams. This work requires knowledge of complex lean concepts and tools
* Supports facility efforts and leads teams to design and implement material packaging and containerization solutions for a facility
* Leads cross-functional teams to achieve MQ or other similar facility certifications
* Works with diverse, multi-functional work teams to drive improvements required to meet certification requirements


Required Qualifications:

* College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
* Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process
* Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience
* Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes

Desired Qualifications:

* Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Engineer
* A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics
