JOB PURPOSE: To create and execute the strategy to increase the capabilities of first-line managers, enabling them to best deliver on the Enterprise Strategy. To deliver value added leadership development solutions, partnering with the Talent Management organization, HR Business Partners, and Business leaders throughout the Enterprise.
*Design, deliver and evaluate by-invitation programs for a specified group of leaders and design and evaluate learning solutions for all first-line leaders throughout the Enterprise.
*Continuously improve Caterpillar’s first-line leadership development strategy and solutions by working closely with a variety of partners including but not limited to HR senior leadership and key business leaders throughout the Enterprise.
*Seek out and share trends related to leadership development, serving as a voice of expertise within the internal and external learning community. Conduct research including benchmarking and share findings both internally and externally.
*Ensure Caterpillar's leadership development approach for first-line leaders is managed with operational excellence and has the desired impact.
*Capabilities to be deployed are, but are not limited to, program and project management, adult learning strategy and content development, data analysis, written and verbal communication for a wide range of audiences including executives.
*Define risks, resolve problems and redirect efforts for projects under his/her control to ensure specific goals are met and desired results are achieved.
*Requires strong understanding and experience in increasing leadership capabilities to deliver proven business results through modern learning frameworks and platforms. Must understand the business, as well as the leadership capabilities needed by the business to deliver profitable growth.
*Responsible for partnering effectively with external learning organizations as appropriate, managing those relationships.
*Position confronts complex issues or problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis. Manage the completion of own work assignments and requires close collaboration with others.
*Bachelor's level degree in addition to 6 to 10 years progressively responsible job-related experience.
*Significant experience in leadership development strategy and execution for global organizations.
*Experience in both designing and curating adult learning content.
*Strong change management and communication skills both written and verbal.
*Prior experience in adult learning in a global corporate environment including learning needs analysis and measuring learning effectiveness and impact.
*Proven experience in building relationships across a matrix organization at various levels.
*Strong project and program management ability with proven experience in delivering results on-time and on-budget while functioning in a role that is high velocity and ever-evolving.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
*Experience in development and execution of learning solutions specifically for front-line leaders.
*Understanding of assessments for the purpose of leadership development.
*Experience and certification in coaching leaders.
The Hiring Manager sits in Illinois but location is flexible and can be remote.
