JOB PURPOSE: To provide HR support service to employees, managers and HR colleagues for recruitment (hourly and salaried), induction, application of existing policies and procedures, HR administration (e.g.: compensation and benefits, performance awards, PeopleSoft etc.), support on training activities (register training information etc.) and coordinate HR services.
*Responsible for tracking, maintenance and updating of employee files, including I-9s, requesting system amendments for employee changes, supporting time reporting on Kronos and sending relevant paperwork to be entered to employees electronic history files.
*Coordinate employee bulletin/compliance boards and support employee communications and employee relation activities.
*Provide ‘first line’ support to employees, managers and HR Colleagues who have queries on existing HR policies or procedures and benefits.
*Help support initiatives as an outcome of employee feedback (including continuous improvement ideas and the Employee Insights Survey).
*Send relevant employee related documentation to the correct support group e.g. FML, Workers Compensation, medical notes, etc.
*Support local facility recruiting/interviewing activities where needed.
*Attend local Job Fairs and Career sessions where requested.
*Where needed, conduct new employee orientations to establish positive attitude toward company goals.
*Counsel employees on developmental opportunities and career paths available within company.
*Provide investigation and disciplinary support to the facility as agreed with the HR Manager.
*Provide backup support and coverage in the absence of the on-site HR Manager.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires in-depth knowledge of personnel practices and a good understanding of various benefit delivery systems. Must have good organization and personal computer skills, schedule flexibility and the ability to work with all levels of personnel. Expected to make decisions and interpretations of company policies and practices. A high degree of confidentiality must be maintained in this position.
Must have or be working towards Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
Top Candidates will also have:
PHR or SPHR certification (or actively working towards certification)
Strong computer skills
MS Office suite experience (basic skills/knowledge - capable of functioning independently)
Previous HR experience
Starting rate of pay: $18.15/hour
