Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for an Engineering Technician position located in the Fargo, ND facility. This position will ensure production goals are met by providing support for the value stream above and beyond the scope of the technician job duties.  In addition to the support role, the incumbent will also work in every capacity as the Senior Technician in the absence of the Technician.  The position will encompass all aspects of the Quality and Engineering Technician roles for the product and process.  Incumbent will serve as a Technician for a separate value stream in addition to all described job duties.


Job Duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Machine setup and operation (if located in the machine shop)
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Limited programming edit and debug for machines and/or robots (if located in the machine shop)
  • End-to-end responsibility for product
  • Working and accomplishing goals with minimal supervision
  • Attending training as required
  • Performing all other duties as required 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years of remanufacturing experience
  • Experience reading and understanding precision gauges/torque and torque devices

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Thorough knowledge of powertrain products and processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems, recognizing the need for support and creating teams to accomplish tasks if necessary
  • Ability to learn new products and processes and to evaluate and recommend improvements to Standard Work
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • High degree of accountability for product and processes 

Additional Information:
Starting hourly pay: $22.10
Work hours: 6am -4:30pm; Mon - Thurs.  Friday’s are flexible.
