As a Section Manager at Caterpillar, you will supervise and provide leadership to Team Leads assigned to manufacturing areas.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to
meet schedules and production requirements
priorities and schedules the sequence of jobs
overtime needs, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and
decides when disciplinary action is necessary
production meets quality / cost standards
necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and
changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value
preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma,
Internal Certification, etc
and improves safety on the shop floor; eliminating any unsafe operations
and ensuring a safe and clean production environment
assesses, and identifies training needs of the workforce
training and effective utilization of work force
the following CPS-related duties:
for value stream mapping
allocation to meet requirements
and models the CPS Guiding Principles
process improvement dialogues
Root Cause Corrective Action on issues that arrise and drive continuous
section status and monitors and audits related metrics
efforts to develop and deploy standard work for each work area
This position does not offer relocation
This position requires no travel.
This is a 3rd
Shift position – Sunday through Thursday 10pm - 7am

Top Candidates Will Also Have
- College or university degree in an operations-related discipline or 4 years experience in a warehouse, logistics or operations environment
- Familiarity with material movement and distribution practices and at least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Prior planning or shop experience
- Good human relations, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse and logistics processes
