Job Description


The Occupational Health Nurse is an advanced-level nursing position requiring the application of occupational nursing and administrative skills in a variety of settings. This is a nurse-generalist position typical residing in large, high-volume medical clinics or administrative office settings. Job responsibilities may span beyond a single facility, and include special assignments and strategic planning across the Corporate Medical department with the potential for enterprise wide impact. This position serves as a subject matter expert in occupational health within the Corporate Medical Department, servicing stakeholders at all levels of the company. The Occupational Health Nurse possesses unique ownership and accountability for specific medical processes and programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Deliver comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury
* Responsible for functioning as an autonomous nurse with the ability to respond independently to the majority of clinical situations
* Respond to and lead on-site medical emergency response;
* May assume all daily responsibilities of lower occupational health nurses
* Represent the Corporate Medical Department, its policies and strategy
* Mentor, train, educate lower occupational health nurses
* Seek ways to innovate, improve and create best-in-class occupational medical practices
* Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on occupational health for projects within or beyond the core Medical Department;
* Responsible for design, implementation and quality management of specialized occupational health
processes and programs
* Analyze and report program data within and beyond the company
* May mentor team members, review work of others and serve as an ad hoc leader for other members of the Department.


Basic Qualifications:
* Licensed as a Registered Nurse
* 3 to 5 years progressively responsible nursing experience
* Bachelor's degree

* Previous experience working in Occupational Health nursing
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
* Well organized 
* Ability to maintain confidentiality 
* Able to learn and manipulate various on-line databases
* Accountability, flexibility and project management skills
* Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Presentation skills
* Knowledge in various areas of occupational health and Human Resources
