Do you want to work for the industry leader where you can build your career along with helping to build the world?  Are you driven to look for opportunities to accomplishing great things while continuing to learn every day?   Do you see yourself as self-motivated and intellectually curious?   If this sounds like you, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Victoria, TX team where we manufacture excavators that lead the market in quality and productivity as a Manufacturing Engineer.  In this critical role, you will be support and develop cost effective machine testing, calibration, and assembly process plans for the Hydraulic Excavator assembly operations.  You will independently, collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team, to maintain and improve processes and systems used in product manufacturing with a strong focus on machine testing, calibration and fill processes.  Also, you will utilize systematic problem-solving techniques to continuously improve manufacturing operations in the areas of employee safety, product quality, and process throughput.

Specifically, you can expect to:
  • Perform technical analysis of machine test/calibration cell and fluid filling processes to support management decisions
  • Write and update programs for filling and testing of hydraulic excavators
  • Write and update programs for ECM flashing and chassis harness testing
  • Troubleshoot excavator error codes found in testing
  • Review quality defects in the assembly process and drive root cause failure analysis
  • Drive Lean principles in first pass yield
  • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Card process
  • Create detailed work instructions and develop training plans
  • Work with service providers to maintain equipment condition and function
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement established best practices
  • Design and direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of testing equipment and machines
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvement
  • Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers
  • Perform quality checks on machines
  • Analyze and deploy engineering change notices
  • Participate in Collaborative Product and Process Development
  • Understand and communicate material deviation process
  • Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements
  • Analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for engineering product designs
  • Provide day-to-day coaching duties in absence of team leader


Successful candidates must bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing/Engineering-related discipline from an accredited college or university OR at least 2 years of focused experience in test cell and manufacturing engineering.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least 2 years in other professional level position.
Top Candidates Will Also Bring:
  • Experience using Visual Process Planning for Assembly (VPPA), Team Center, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and SAP
  • Thorough knowledge of the heavy equipment product lines, ideally excavators, and testing processes
  • Project management / New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of drawing reading and interpreting engineering specifications
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts
  • Full understanding of the prescribed standard work instructions
  • Solid project management skills
