Job Description


The Project Engineer will manage the service data development for the Caterpillar Certified Rebuild Program (CCRP) within the Global Service Department.  In this role, you will have the responsibility to create service media for the CCRP, support dealer inquiries, perform dealer audits, dealer training and implement process improvements. This role will focus on process improvements related to automated authoring, integration with other repair option development processes and learn to author component repairs. The candidate will assign parts and groups with the SMCS codes. They will read, analyze and determine service magazine articles that are critical to ensure the performance and second life of Cat equipment. They will maintain the CCRP processes by updating the tutorials and creating process improvements. The role will require continuous learning on the Caterpillar product line. This role is a CCRP technical expert and is responsible for developing all CCRP media requirements and resolution on technical inquiries.


Basic Requirements:
- 4 Year Degree in Marketing, Engineering or Technical field OR 7+ years of experience with Product Support 
- 1+ years of experience using SIS
- 1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting Caterpillar engineering prints
- Strong mechanical aptitude – knowledge of component rebuilds, engine rebuilds, what it takes to perform a full machine rebuild.

Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- Understands the Caterpillar machine and engine parts product structure
- Experience with Dealer service data, SMCS codes and standard jobs
- 3-5 years of experience leveraging Special Instructions, PIP, PSP, Service Magazine Articles, Reuse & - Salvage Guidelines  
- 1-3 years of experience using Microsoft Excel and Access 
- Other engineering systems, Advanced Components Manufacturing (ACM)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Builder G3 and SOC
- General knowledge of entire Caterpillar Product Line, Machines, Engines, and Power Systems
- Experience with the CCRP Authoring Tool and Media Process
- High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Knowledge of Cat Financial products such as applicability of EPP and warranty
- Knowledge of Upgrades & Retrofits and how these are marketed with CCRP
- Detail oriented

Additional Information:
- Travel up to 10%. International travel required.
