As Caterpillar continues to progress on its electrification journey, it will be critical to determine the best methods for managing batteries at each stage of use.  Li-Ion batteries require special handling and considerations throughout the product’s lifecycle.  We are currently looking for a Senior Engineering Project Team Lead to lead the Battery Team’s efforts in Lifecycle Management, which includes areas such as service, reuse/repurpose, and recycling.  The role will focus on both strategy and execution for these areas and work within Caterpillar’s Advanced Power Products Division located in Mossville, Illinois.   


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 


This position will be accountable for building Caterpillar’s knowledge of supporting and handling Li-Ion batteries after the initial sale/commissioning.  This includes handling and storage of service parts, rebuild for repair, repurpose for second/third life, and end of useful life recycling.  The incumbent would visit suppliers and service providers (i.e. repurpose or recycle) and would participate in industry consortiums to maintain a current understanding of the industry capabilities and technology trends.  The selected candidate would also be responsible for developing documentation of the impacts and considerations of lifecycle management that can be incorporated into NPI program planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 


- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

- Minimum 10 years of Engineering experience


Top Candidates Will Also Have: 


- Proven leadership skills

- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle

- Experience with Dealer Network

- Strong business acumen

- Experience in EVC and/or Product Support

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Location of this position is in Mossville, IL.

- This position may require 10% travel
