As the Engineering Manager of the Underground Mining’s Longwall Mining (LWM) engineering organization, you will have the overall Product Design responsibility for customer orders, New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Quality Improvement (CPI), and Cost Reduction, in both Mechanical Engineering & Automation.
You will successfully lead a cross functional team to solve very complex technical problems.
Your organization will be responsible for creating technical specifications, developing detailed designs and solutions and validating these designs and solutions.
Your team will also participate in virtual assembly audits, factory introductions and compatibility builds.
You will collaborate with multiple areas of engineering, operations and purchasing around the globe. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology.
Reporting to this position are various levels of managers, supervisors, team leaders, engineers and support personnel in several geographic locations.
Job Duties Include but not limited to:
Drive a strong focus on detailed definition of customer requirements and technical requirements.
Implement strong governance and resource management to ensure the multiple customer order projects, CPI projects, and NPI projects are resourced and keeping on track with deliverables.
Partner with our Integrated Components & Solutions (ICS) team on Automation engineering and champion the collaboration between the organizations.
Champion the integration of Lean and Built-In-Quality into Engineering.

Previous team leadership experience and organization skills are necessary.
Advanced program management skills are critical.
Prior experience dealing with a global marketplace both in terms of customers and in terms of sourcing suppliers, production and talent.
Excellent human relations, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as ability to deal with sensitive issues.
Highly Desired Background Skills and Experience:
Experience in working with an Offshore Engineering team in India
Strong Experience in Project Management & Governance
Another language, German an added plus
Proven ability to manage, lead & Engage global teams
Engineering and product development experience
A degree in Engineering or a closely related technical degree with 15 or more years of experience.
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.
