About the Team:
Caterpillar provides customers worldwide with customized systems for longwall coal mining including high-horsepower shearers, automated plow systems and armored face conveyors with intelligent drive technology — controlled and supported by advanced longwall automation.
The Caterpillar Longwall team is currently looking to strengthen its project management team in Beresfield, NSW with 3 senior project managers. (Other suitable locations also include Brisbane or Mackay).
As part of the ramping up of our teams in Australia, they have the unique opportunity of becoming actors in the definition of processes, communication flows and tools.
To Lead the execution, from customer interactions to commissioning, of large multi-million-dollar projects with team members and parties in multiple countries. Owns overall accountability for internal and external project execution with governance on utilization of engineering and manufacturing resources.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
They drive the implementation of internal research and development (NPI) as well as external customer projects, including the development of master detailed project management schedule, charter, PEP and other required project artefacts. They monitor and make decision on the determination of resource requirements assuring program dates can be met.
During the project phase, senior project managers are the main direct contact for the customers and dealers into the product line. They are responsible for setting deadlines for each project steps, with the accountability of delivering the project on targets. Continually co-ordinating
, with teams located in Australia, India, China, USA in a matrix environment.
Responsible for the documenting and resolving issues that surface during execution and distribute these to internal and external team members.
The Sr project managers will assure the timely creation of key implementation documentation - Customer and Business Requirements, Program and Technical Specifications, etc.
They drive continuous improvement in the efficiency of the Implementation Team by identifying and recommending new approaches, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Provide full oversight and coordinate the interfaces with the regional project managers, located in country.
The position holder is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems, which may not be obvious. The incumbents solve problems by determining the best course of action in cooperation with the appropriate.
The Senior Project Manager is accountable to deliver the agreed customer and business requirements for the project in terms of product performance / specifications, on-time delivery, quality and product cost.
Employees may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as their leadership position requires.
