Create and drive vital employee relations strategies across the Caterpillar businesses to enable successful execution of business strategy. This role leads a team that provides guidance and support for Business Unit HR team across the enterprise. This role reports directly to the CHRO.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Develop proactive and positive employee relations strategy, partner with business leaders and with internal and external stakeholders to deploy employee and labor relations activities to support business strategies
Manage employee and labor relation aspects of repositioning and global footprint projects
Serve as the subject matter expert, proactively monitoring and leveraging industry leading practices, assess implications for the business and develop strategies to address them.
Collaborate with Legal and stakeholders for guidance to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and contractual obligations
Drive continuous improvement and lead change across represented and non-represented workforces
Negotiate labor contracts and conduct information and consultation where required
Develop, implement and manage employee relations programs and training in non-represented workplaces
Partner with Business HR Leaders to develop HR capabilities in terms of building positive employee relations at all facilities
A minimum of 20% to 30% travel, both domestic and international, is required.
Bachelor’s degree is required
10+ years combined Labor & Employee Relations/client support leadership positions, leading teams and having primary functional support responsibility for business client groups
Success positively influencing enterprise-wide labor and employee relations outcomes for complex, global organization
Global labor leadership experience is required (union and works council)
Must have demonstrated experience as a chief spokesperson in labor contract negotiations, preparation and conducting of labor arbitration
Experience in building positive employee relations in represented and non-represented workplaces
