As an Engineer, you will have an opportunity to learn and execute projects on fabricated structural design of earth moving equipment. This position gives greater opportunity in learning and enhancing technical capabilities while collaboratively working with cross functional teams that are located globally in designing of new products and processes. You will build your technical expertise while learning product development through practical application and staying abreast of innovative technology. In this role, you will deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar’s products, technologies, processes, services and systems, which you will use to:
Conceives product design concepts and prepares design layouts of systems and major components through CREO tool.
Makes design calculations, design decisions and actively participates in design reviews.
Provides technical guidance to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service and other departments to solve the more difficult problems
Refines and improves product designs by investigating and developing solutions to product design problems.
Approves or rejects engineering design deviations or change requests from other departments
Actively support prototype, pilot, or production build activities
Perform failure analysis, identify root cause, generate ideas and propose solution to simple to medium complex structural problems;
Evaluate new products, processes, or systems;
Perform product and process maintenance;
Cascade design proposals and get concurrence with counterpart engineers, purchase teams / suppliers as needed.
Apply knowledge of welding, GD&T in engineering drawings & manufacturing processes;
Frequent collaboration with global engineers on prioritizing, planning and executing of projects;
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering domain preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
Work Experience: 2 – 4 Years
Strong in analytical, interpersonal and interpersonal skills
Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
Good knowledge in material selection, manufacturing process of fabricated structures is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Structural DVP’s.
Knowledge of Creo-Simulate and FEA is an added advantage.
Prior exposure / participation in NPI program from start to finish with a
focused responsibility for the development of Heavy Structures is an added
Incumbent should possess working knowledge on Creo
Requires adequate knowledge on general engineering practices and Teamcenter engineering enterprise.
