Job Description


As a Crane Operator you may apply the knowledge in materials handling, loading and unloading materials from trucks or rail cars and can help lift heavy parts.

Job duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Operate 30 ton or larger overhead crane and jib cranes.

  • Hitch and unhitch all types of materials safely and properly.

  • Locate, identify, receive, load, move and store materials.

  • Select proper chains, clevises, hooks, etc. and inspect all equipment before operating.

  • Properly raise, lower, roll, move and place load.

  • Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe operations.

  • Operate power lift trucks as required.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with 30 ton or larger overhead crane or jib crane.

  • Successfully complete overhead crane and other operator required training.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

  • Ability to work overtime to support production demands.


 Additional Information:

This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI and is part of Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations & Products Division. This 2nd shift position starts at $20.31 plus shift premium of $0.70 and includes immediate benefits, such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a matching Tax-Deferred Savings Plan. No relocation assistance is available.
