As a Parts and Services Marketing Consultant you are expected to provide both qualitative and quantitative direction to the best service recondition options for hydraulic excavators (HEX). This direction is critical to the development of forward-looking service plans for our dealers and customers and will drive key parts marketing initiatives and metrics at the corporate level.

This person will collaborate with the product group to define the service events needed to create the service data to support dealers globally and internal consumers of the data. The consultant will work with life cycle managers, product support managers, Global Aftermarket Services Division (GASD), Subject Matter Experts (SME), dealers, digital scientists, and other key internal partners to identify specific business rules for the creation of the HEX service strategy. This role will define expected recondition and maintenance service options for (HEX) using both dealer and Caterpillar data.

The service strategy developed will be the framework required for critical service components such as recondition intervals, parts consumed, and the labor hours required to complete specific recondition options. The team's output is the foundational dataset for processes and systems, Total Maintenance and Repair (TM&R), Labor Guides, preventative maintenance services, VisionLink, CatInspect, standard jobs, Customer Value Agreements, lead generation, and much more.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing data and working with product & component groups, GASD SMEs, Life Cycle managers, etc. to define component and machine service strategy
- Managing large, complex projects spanning multiple product groups
- Calculating TM&R cost and recommending service strategy changes to drive lower cost during the New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Responding to dealer and internal requests for TM&R cost estimates
- Performing labor time studies on-site at Caterpillar dealers when required

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or 5-8 years' experience in product support or product development roles will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree

- 3-5 years of product or product support experience

- Strong understanding of Caterpillar product support literature and systems (SIS, HVC, EDS, TMI, Print reading, Product Structure, Engineering change process)

- Demonstrated high analytical and communication skills including demonstrated expertise in Excel, Word, PPT, Tableau, etc.

- Demonstrated highly proficient team working and interpersonal skills for fostering good relationships with product groups to ensure great collaboration

- Proven understanding of basic mechanical & hydraulic systems  


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

- Minimum 1-year experience using service data (ie Service Options Collaborator/Builder/Calculator etc.)

- Knowledge of Caterpillar products, policies, procedures, customer applications, dealer support and service capabilities.

- Strong customer focus and ability to influence senior business leaders across multiple levels of the enterprise.

- Ability to fulfill individual role by delivering high quality work in a timely manner while interacting with and supporting the team effectively

- Ability to work effectively in the global environment with many different cultures

- Proven knowledge of dealer work order structure

- Strong mechanical understanding of engines and machines

- Field Representative experience working with heavy equipment and/or engine dealers

- A strong can-do attitude as evidenced by their results
