Responsible for developing and managing strategy and transportation processes to support Cat Distribution Services and Caterpillar manufacturing. Develops, implements and manages strategy and processes for Cat transportation customers. Investigate and recommend transportation solutions to complex supply chain issues.

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day planning, analyzing, and execution of load planning, as well as transportation processes to support Caterpillar Distribution Services and Manufacturing sites across North America.  The position works directly with finish goods suppliers, carriers, forwarders, Caterpillar facilities and dealers to ensure all operational goals and KPI’s are being achieved.  The role will also provide valuable insight to project implementations and redesigns, as well as onboard of new suppliers to the network.

  • Analyzing client and operational needs and making recommendations for developing, implementing, and/or improving, transportation services/operations
  • Documented processes are understood and adhered to for all the required functions:
    • Order Receipt
    • Load Building & Tendering
    • Track and Trace
    • Trailer Audit Analysis
    • Carrier Follow-up
    • Metrics Creation & Reporting
    • Onboarding New Suppliers
    • Implementation and Support Functions
  • Continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes, drive standard work, and eliminate waste
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years), preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business or Engineering.
  • 1 or 2 years of experience in Logistics areas (Transportation and/or Supply Chain)
  • Bilingual – Spanish and fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge with transportation operations including customs paperwork requirements for imports or exports into Mexico
  • Experience working with web based or platform systems: MRP's, TMS, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools, specifically Excel/Access and being able to generate and analyze reports
  • Flexibility to work on and off shift hours
  • Display a high degree of personal initiative, accountability, teamwork and customer focus

  • 6 Sigma/Lean Experience
