A Transportation Analyst IV has responsibility for International Transportation supporting our Aftermarket Parts Distribution Centers within North America. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for escalation, process improvement, and velocity metrics for Cat Parts international transportation (air and ocean) within North America
  • Coordinates problem resolution with Caterpillar facilities and approved Service Providers (ocean carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders) with regards to the transportation network
  • Implements root cause, corrective action for Supply Chain Velocity Metrics across consolidation centers, dray carriers, ocean carriers and destination parties.
  • Conducts freight cost analysis to support Parts Objectives
  • Leads and implements cross-functional transportation projects to support PSLD’s Transformation Targets and Cat Parts objectives
  • Implements both operational and technological solutions to reduce performance gaps, improve velocity, and reduce costs within the transportation network
  • Provides analytical insights to leadership and internal customers to generate fact driven solutions
  • Uses tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio to drive transportation tracking and process flow improvements 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of transportation, logistics, or import/export operations
  • Previous knowledge and experience of warehousing operations, warehouse management systems, or IT related roles supporting distribution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Tools (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), specifically Excel application functionality experience with data analysis: V Lookups, and pivot tables

Top candidates will also have:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven customer focus and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Previous experience in transportation on an international scale
  • Knowledge of North American port, terminal and/or rail networks
  • Previous experience working in Caterpillar Parts Distribution network: operations, systems, or IT
  • Working knowledge of transportation software: JDA TM / Blue Yonder, TW Slot, InforNexus, TIS, Rate Management, SAP/MACH 1
  • Working knowledge of Cat Parts systems: Antares, SAP SPM, CRM, PartsViz
  • Leadership or supervisory experience

This position requires 15% or less travel.
