As a Transportation Analyst III you will manage the movement of Prime Product from facility to dealership or end customer. It is the first line of contact for dealer questions, concerns, and requests regarding transportation of shipments. The role also delivers significant cost reduction and velocity improvements for the Product Group by identifying and implementing solutions to create value.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the end to end transportation of Prime Product orders to North America dealers
  • Provide oversight to Trade Lane Analysts in support of dealer delivery requirements and overall experience
  • Work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams to apply the logistics planning process and lead team efforts to develop optimal order-delivery transportation flow
  • Drive metric performance to ensure the most effective methods are implemented in reducing in-transit inventory and eliminating waste in the transportation process
  • Conduct regular governance and performance updates with dealers for assigned Trade Lane
  • Identify and execute process improvements, cost mitigation and savings within the Trade Lane, benefiting the dealers, product group, and end customers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Operations, Orders and/or Freight Forwarding
  • Leadership skills to effectively collaborate and drive improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex often urgent problems
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a global environment and under pressure
  • Proven customer focus and management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of ocean, rail and truck transportation modes and terminology
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Prime Product
  • Knowledge of CMOPS, MACH1, GT Nexus, and Salesforce (eViz)
  • Proficient in Microsoft based applications, PowerPoint, Excel, Flow, Planner, Power BI, and Word
 
Top candidates will also have:
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation and/or Freight Forwarding
  • Previous Import/Export experience
  • Previous experience with Tableau, Power BI, or a business insights tool
  • Leadership skills to effectively action End to End Transportation Cost studies with multiple groups within Caterpillar (Orders Team, Procurement, Origin TLM Organization, Load Planning, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a global environment
  • Proven customer focus and management skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Additional Information:
This position does not offer relocation
This position requires 15% or less travel.
