To be an experienced analyst who is able to collect, analyse interpret and prepare marketing data and to advise Sales Specialists and Sales Team Leaders of the early findings from this data. The role also requires the ability to structure, manage information pertaining to a large opportunity within the Asia Pacific region. Experienced analysts are also required to support the Sales team in the preparation of presentation material for both internal and external audiences.
The key objective of this assignment is to support the regional sales team and help project manage a large opportunity within the Asia Pacific region.
The incumbent will be required to gather and assimilate information regarding the customers’ requirements, competition, pricing, shipyards involved, key decision makers, key messages, reference cases and product offerings. They will also be responsible to track and manage actions against numerous sub-projects within the overall scope of the opportunity.
Working closely with the Territory Sales Manager and Caterpillar dealer in assigned country, the successful candidate would be required to collect, organize and manage this information in a consistent manner. They would also be responsible for the analysis, interpretation and presentation of the information, in a way that provides meaningful insights to the Regional Sales Team and enables the development of a sales proposition that satisfies the key customer requirements.
The incumbent will report directly to and receive guidance from the Regional Marine Sales Manager for Asia Pacific
Experience in the Marine
or Oil & Gas business is preferred and / or a basic knowledge of engines. A broad understanding of the marketing mix
and / or project management is also preferred
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:Requires a minimum of a college background or equivalent or a minimum of 2 to 3 years appropriate business experience. At least one year of this experience must have been as a Marketing Analyst SG19. Proven ability as a team player and a good working knowledge of marine products and markets is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required. Very strong numeracy and literacy skills are needed in order to have demonstrable interpretative capability with complex data. A solid ability to conduct statistical analysis is needed for certain marketing disciplines.
