We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Sr. Application Engineer. This position is a part of the Metal Face Seal Commercial Team, located at the Tech Center in Mossville, IL.

As a Sr Application Engineer for Metal Face Seals, you will be an integral part of the sales team and will also interface with our manufacturing plants and product engineering at the Tech Center.  The major focus of this position is to work directly with external customers and with sales reps on new product development including visiting customers and helping to create samples and a test plan.  This position also acts as the interface with the customer on quality issues working with the seal manufacturing plants and seal engineering when issues arise.  An applicant with the right background may also complete some new product design in partnership with the product engineering team.  As an individual contributor, this role has a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across the organization to grow sales and solve problems. This position will be accountable for contributing to the identification, analysis, and resolution of customer needs and problems.  The regions of responsibility will include the Americas and EAME.  Required travel is less than 30%.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Account Managers on new prod dev (Samples, Customer Visits)
  • Interface with seal manufacturing plants and Engineering on all quality issues
  • Work with technical teams of various OEM customers, including customer visits
  • Collaborate with validation team to understand and communicate various results
  • Understand, document and communicate customer requirements, competitive landscapes, and other market intelligence to ensure awareness of customer needs

Basic Requirements
  • BS Engineering Degree

  • 8+ years of engineering experience
Top candidates will also have
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, customers, and others in the work group.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work with and develop new customers.
  • Knowledge of Metal Face Seals business
  • Previous metal face seal design and/or test experience
  • Ability to identify market growth opportunities and new markets
  • Strong prioritization capability and customer focus
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to operate autonomously, self-starter, and team player
  • Demonstrated experience in construction industries or aftermarket
  • Strong problem-solving skills

This position does not offer relocation
This position requires 30% or less travel.
