Description

As Business Manager, you will be responsible for developing and administering worldwide insurance programs for property risks and working with worldwide business units to implement programs and practices to prevent losses.  You will provide leadership in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and be the key liaison with our global property insurer.  You will have oversight responsibility for the accuracy of the property values collection process and business unit invoicing.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Work with Corporate Property & Casualty Manager to execute Global Process Ownership responsibilities for worldwide property insurance programs

* Design property programs that best utilize Caterpillar’s captive insurance company
* Develop and execute annual renewal strategy for the Corporate Property Insurance Program, negotiating competitive pricing and coverage arrangements including development of required information for underwriting submissions and active in underwriting meetings

* Manage the collection and reporting of accurate property values worldwide for annual policy renewals and allocate total property premium to worldwide business units
* Maintain standard insurance requirements for third party contracts and leases and review corporate real estate contracts with third parties to assure adequate indemnification and insurance protection for the company

* Lead worldwide business units, facilities, service centers and outside experts to identify and assess risks, determine insurance needs, and establish proactive risk management practices

* Analyze loss data to identify trends on losses, negotiate settlements, and identify appropriate cost containment techniques
* Develop and provide quarterly property loss reports
* Consult with Business Unit managers on loss trends and actions needed to be taken to reduce property risk exposure
* Identify, quantify, and communicate potential major property losses 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
 

* Bachelors level degree in a Finance or Accounting related discipline

* 5 - 7 years of progressive finance related experience


Desired Qualifications:

* Associate or BS in Risk Management and/or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation
* Loss prevention and claims training

* Good human relations skills
* Good oral and written communication
* Excellent negotiating ability
* Administrative and organizational skills
* Decision making skills
* Strong analytical and leadership skills

* Self starter

* Knowledge of company policies and procedures, and company products and customers
* A strong finance, accounting or commercial insurance background
