JOB PURPOSE: To analyze and interpret training requests from throughout the unit, analyze training needs, and provide training.
JOB DUTIES: This position typically analyzes and interprets training requests from the organization and performs training needs analysis to determine required training.
Incumbent delivers and/or facilitates training in the classroom or work setting using a variety of training aids and techniques.
Coordinates various training related tasks to assure trainees are achieving adequate levels of learning, such as data collection, Skills Management System inputs, and training needs analysis.
Performs simple cost/benefit analysis studies on training interventions and make training proposals.
Maintains up-to-date skills related to the expertise required to perform training responsibilities.
Develops and implements training using job aids, training check sheets, visual aids, and other training support methods.
Coordinates the activities of salaried training staff as required.
Improves training processes with modifications to materials, methods and various evaluation techniques.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: This is an entry-level staff management position in training. The position normally requires technical expertise in a specific area and basic skills in data collection, performance and skills analysis, training development, communications (oral & written), and the basic techniques of training delivery. Knowledge of various areas of plant operations is desirable.
