Aftermarket Solutions Representatives – 2000027N


To serve as a hydraulic industry consultant and divisional expert for their respective industries in order to develop strategic Aftermarket solutions and support Aftermarket Solutions Representatives (ASR) in the field and contribute to the Divisions business and long-term leadership position.


This role is a key interface between a number of key business units and product groups across Caterpillar, you will be required to communicate across all levels of the organisation. This is a pivotal role in ensuring alignment between the Industries in terms of Aftermarkets solutions, OIA strategic plans and the GASD RI. The role is clearly recognized as an expert in hydraulic business segment and will have ANZI Region focus.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:


  • In the role you will demonstrate creativity, innovation, foresight, business judgment and outstanding mining industry knowledge and marketing/distribution knowledge along with the sensitivity to customer financial impact.

  • You will provide knowledge, recognition and expertise on mining industry & market requirements, technology watch, mining regulations and customer specific regulations.

  • Having strong hydraulic applications experience, life cycle cost knowledge of dealers and customers application, mining industry and marketplace needs will allow you to meet the business objectives.

  • You will provide consulting, collecting VOC for NPI and distribution needs to define and develop Aftermarket breakthrough solutions for the mining industries that would help in market leadership.

  • Working along with senior management in collaborating to resource industry growth plan (OIA), developing Global merchandising programs and rationalization for regional / second level dealer programs.

  • Provide guidance and training for ASR, direction for future solutions and resource industry needs and share this expertise at higher industry levels with business unit management.


 Provides Commercial Support:


  • Identify aftermarket issues and develop strategies to overcome them globally.
  • Support the execution of growth and turn-around plans.
  • Make market driven recommendations on parts targets and growth strategies across multiple industries to achieve revenue targets globally.
  • Support the development of defined marketing programs with the industry and across verticals (CI/RI/E&T) to achieve GASD RI plans & volume targets, POPS-C objectives and net price realization globally. 
  • Collect Voice of Market input with the industry group and VOC from regional field
  • Lead analysis of industry key competitors global merchandising strengths, weaknesses and tactics
  • Develops global go to market merchandising programs and ensure consistency amongst regional programs
  • Support development of the repair options programs / CVA / Cat Connect programs
  • Support dealer development with training for dealer PSSR



In this position you will work autonomously and broadly subject to functional policies and ultimate goals. You will manage the compliance of your own assignments and keeping up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment. Having the ability to communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.



As and ASR you will work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. You will communicate with the Product Support Managers, representing the sales teams to those positions.


 

As an ASR you also serve as the Voice of Field (VOC, VOD, VOB) back to the Product Groups and will make fact-based market driven recommendations to the industries on VOC input. You will have good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit. This role requires extensive travel to understand regional business conditions up to 70%.


 

You will also be working towards developing expertise within government agencies, national associations, dealers and customer groups whilst having responsible for leading special projects of Medium Term/Long Term.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

 

  • The position requires extensive product marketing commercial / technical experience at least 5+ years with a good working understanding of the needs of customers, dealers, and industries and product groups.
  • Prior field experience is essential with exceptional expertise shall be in the hydraulics industry.
  • This position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience delivering price realization targets, OPACC initiatives, managing global accounts, launching new products, and NPI marketing recommendations are all required.
  • Must demonstrate mining industry and product knowledge, NPI process understanding and experience working price/value analysis and disconnect.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, organizational and analytical skills and be highly proficient working team dynamics and interpersonal relationships to successfully influence others and achieve challenging goals across the global Caterpillar enterprise.
  • Requires a broad business background, excellent communication

    skills and be willing to be a strong advocate of the customer and the enterprise.



     Desired Qualifications:

    Previous mining industry / product experience, Engineering Degree, MBA or equivalent, multiple language capabilities are all preferred.
