As the Resource Industries Strategic Finance Manager at Caterpillar (internally titled CFO Coordinator), you will have the opportunity to develop essential business information and provide counsel to management for all business analysis, product costing and return on investment activities. In addition, you will provide analysis and interpretation of the financial condition of the Resource Industries segment.
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager are staff responsible for accounting and financial reporting, business analysis and business support.
Primary responsibilities typically include:
Consolidating and forecasting accountable results for the divisions within the segment
Developing communications to support the explanation of RI’s results and the industries we serve for both internal and external consumption
Provide leadership and support in preparing Resource Industry materials for the quarterly release
Liaising between Corporate Accounting and the division business resource teams
- Coordinating segment board reporting
Managing RBM and Annual Business Planning for the segment
Leading segment metric reporting and strategic imperatives
- Assisting with special projects
- Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of supervisor experience
8+ years of progressively responsible accounting and/or Finance related experience
Knowledge and experience with Caterpillar’s external reporting process
Business unit experience with financial analysis and forecasting
Experience with consolidations at either the corporate or business unit level
High levels of initiative, leadership and good judgement
Strong analytical, process improvement, problem solving and human relations skills
Demonstrated success and progression in previously held business support roles
- Professional certification (CPA or CMA)
MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent)
Strong background in accounting, including past roles requiring financial analysis and forecasting experience
Superior communication skillset, including experience with communication to senior leaders
