Caterpillar’s Global Aftermarket Services Division is seeking a Commercial Consultant in Peoria, IL

As a Commercial Consultant, you will provide revenue support work for Caterpillar replacement parts and complete related special projects as assigned. This work includes performing product price reviews (internal and external), review product profitability, maintain price lists, analyze competitive environment (transaction price level for both Caterpillar and competitive offerings, NPI); and administration/evaluation of special pricing assessments for current and future product (NPI); analyzing revenue contribution from volume, POPS-C and price.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 Establish and review revenue proposals for Caterpillar aftermarket service parts

  • Work with Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Legal, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Product Support Development, and Pricing personnel elsewhere in the company to obtain and evaluate information needed for making revenue recommendations
  • Direct involvement in coordination and implementation of revenue (price) changes between Parts Pricing, Sales and Service Segments, Product Groups and senior management
  • Assist in achieving specific Division objectives by aiding efforts to improve profitability through recommending revenue growth opportunities for price, volume or POPS-C
  • Directly impact specific Corporate objectives by aiding efforts to improve profitability and/or sales by direct input into pricing decisions and approvals (discount programs, NPI scenarios and related activities)
  • Preparation of monthly reports to Government agencies
  • Monitor, document and analyze pricing actions of competitors
  • Maintain the company’s master price history records
  • Gather and analyze shipment volume and POPS
  • Calculate and maintain yield and revenue data in order to determine the effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies and tactics
  • Regularly and accurately maintain and update revenue systems (pricing, invoicing and merchandising) and answering all revenue/pricing related queries for assigned products
  • Develop and maintain internal controls including Sarbanes-Oxley control documentation and is responsible for the testing and validating of these controls


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree concentrated in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or related fields. 
  • The position requires prior experience as a Revenue/Pricing Analyst or equivalent level job in a Caterpillar management role in 6 Sigma, Marketing, Accounting, Finance or related field. 
  • 5-7 years of job related experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Prior experience in a dealer or customer facing role
  • Knowledge of various Caterpillar products, product applications, merchandising programs and business systems is necessary. 
  • Ability to confront unique and complex issues or problems, which require careful analysis, diagnosis and often innovative solutions. 
  • Ability to set priorities and establish a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. 
  • Must have strong analytical ability and initiative, be results oriented, have a high level of interpersonal skills and be an effective writer and oral communicator.
