Leads the development of mining surface command technology recommendations and commercial proposals.
Participates on behalf of and commits Caterpillar in direct Command sales negotiations.
Provides input to product business units concerning new product development, new product requirements, anticompetitive strategies, and pricing related to Command.
Participates pricing strategies and is partially accountable for profitability.
Maintains coverage of key mining customers.
Assists in the technical training of dealer mining sales forces.
Spearheads the introduction of new surface mining systems, products, services, and differentiating Caterpillars technologies surface offerings vs the competition to the customer.
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
Represents MTES on other key corporate activities related to mining surface autonomy systems.
The position's primary customers are Global Mining Customers, Dealers and secondarily MTES Area Managers. The position is challenged to identify and demonstrate the value of the Cat Surface Autonomy System and quickly and correctly identify problems, which may not be obvious. The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.
The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, etc.
The position works to refine processes or procedures to ensure the best use of resources and technology in meeting the quality goals. Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
The position travels extensively; at least one full week each month
The position requires thorough knowledge on company MTES Surface Command products and solutions, product applications and the Dealer’s role with selling and supporting MTES, as well as their business practices.
The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. In addition, twelve to fifteen years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required.
Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others with Caterpillar, dealer and customer organizations. Supervisory experience a plus.
