Job Description


Data Architect will be part of the Data & Analytics architecture team responsible for developing data strategy, establishing data standards, designing data management tool strategy, and supporting overall digital platform architecture. As part of this responsibility, she/he will be responsible for working closely with business counterparts to develop strategy for key data domains that will include establishing business data model and defining approach for data sourcing and enrichment. The person needs to be able to adapt data architecture for big data technologies including telematics & time series data in addition to traditional structured application data. Working with Data & Platform Engineers, she/he will support implementation of master data management tools, implementing master data models consistent with data strategy, and building master data pipelines aligned with data business rules. She/he will also work closely with data governance team to establish governance processes and participate in governance board for architecture input.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for building strategy for master data domains (customer, asset, etc.) working closely with business partners and data SMEs
  • Lead approach to mature master data architecture capabilities for Digital business
  • Lead/participate effort to identify and drive selection of master data management technologies to meet capability gaps in the data platform
  • Lead/participate in business projects that will leverage enterprise data platform
  • Support effort to develop enterprise data model and data catalog for digital platform
  • Develop and/or support data standards for the enterprise data platform
  • Support data design governance activities to manage data standards and solution design
  • Expected to keep up with emerging trends & technologies, new startups in big data and analytics and keep abreast of latest related research
  • Mentor and coach architects to develop talent pipeline of information and integration architects
  • Support efforts to migrate legacy systems to enterprise data platforms

  • Be an evangelist to promote understanding and usage of enterprise data to build digital applications





Required Qualifications:

  • Computer-related four year College or University Degree
  • Ten to fifteen years of IT job experience related to master data management, data architecture, data integration, and digital technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in defining master data management strategy and architecting complex integrated enterprise solutions for digital applications
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring architects, technical leads, and developers
  • Strong leadership skills to communicate and influence business and IT leaders
  • Keen self-interest in keeping up with emerging technologies and acquire practical knowledge on how to apply them for business use
  • Experience developing business use cases for executive review and approval
