Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planning Analyst in the Caterpillar Oil, Gas and Marine Division. In this position, you will provide daily support to the Demand portion of the S&OP process, deliver safe source reporting and analysis, support the annual business planning process, lead portions of the Long-Term forecast and play a key role in process improvement.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Works closely with various marketing groups across the division to gain understanding of key market drivers affecting demand.
  • Manages inputs to the monthly demand review cycle, conducts analysis and creates slide deck to drive focused discussion in Demand Review.
  • Provides support to the development of the Annual Business Plan, quarterly RBM as well as business scenario development as needed throughout the year.
  • Leads project management of the Long-Term Forecast process. Presents to leadership to gain final approval.
  • Acts as the safe-source for reporting and analysis of key internal data.
  • Continuously looks for ways to do things better, faster and to be more proactive in delivering information to the organization.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as Engineering, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or related area.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High attention to detail, strong business acumen and a passion for pulling insights out of data.
Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Knowledge of the Caterpillar products and services.
  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Marine industry.
  • Self-starter who loves solving problems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand the context around the numbers and convey a concise story.
  • Experience with Power BI, Bobj, and Tableau.
