As a Component Business Development Analyst you will provide business development work for Seals, Tubes and Hardware Component Group in PSLD and complete related special projects as assigned. This work includes performing product price and cost reviews (internal and external), making recommendations on inventory adjustments, reviewing product profitability, analyzing competitive environment (transaction price level for both Caterpillar and competitive components).  Supporting component NPI business development actions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead key ST&H transformation growth initiatives
  • Support key MBD (Machine Business Division) partners OPACC initiatives
  • Lead sales growth projects aligning with GASD growth strategy
  • Develop and maintain competitive analysis including sales, cost and pricing to make business development recommendations
  • Develop technical marketing material aligned with GASD marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate sales support of NPI activities to ensure dates are met and material effectively communicates to all internal and external customers 
  • Develop/optimize tools to effectively analyze business data and communicate recommendations to owning organization
  • Drive component product actions based on market data
  • Coordinate component product actions with merchandising plans, sales support, and pricing to ensure alignment
  • Manage the completion of own work assignments and coordinate work with others
  • Set priorities and establish a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience in Marketing, Pricing, Purchasing and/or project leadership
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically experience with data analysis (pivot tables, v-lookups) in Excel, and constructing presentations within PowerPoint

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Previous ST&H component product experience
  • MBD, GASD, or Purchasing experience
  • Thorough knowledge of company products, product applications or merchandising programs
  • Able to initiate communication with and influence others outside immediate work group to adopt and incorporate new ideas

This position requires 10% or less travel.
