Job Description


As a Human Resource (HR) Representative / Administrator at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for administering Human Resource Onsite Operations Services and functions as part of the Singapore Onsite Shared Services. Your current skills and knowledge will be an asset in this role as you interact with management, salaried and hourly employees to provide HR solutions and resolve issues while complying with local legislation and company policies.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • HR Generalist and Operations functions supporting various business units in Singapore
  • Conducting new employee orientation for local hires as well as international assignees. 
  • Coordinate and interact with Regional and Corporate Human Resources, Service Centers, Total Rewards and Payroll to resolve Manager and Employee queries.
  • Interact with and counsel all levels of management, salaried and hourly employees to assist and resolve a wide variety of personnel and performance related issues 
  • HR Administration Functions which would include: Issuance of Visa & employment letters, managing of employee personnel files, preparation of various HR related reports, coordination of re-employment / retirement, resignation / terminations, Service pins etc.
  • Application and Renewal of Work Passes (EP, S Pass, Dependent Pass) for direct hires and eligible dependents. 
  • Completion and coordination of various government / labour market surveys. 
  • Serving as a liaison between process owners and the service center groups to reflect process changes in a standard format
  • Selected HR related projects 


Required Qualifications:
  • Some HR generalist knowledge including local employment laws and practices, HR processes, company policies and procedures, onboarding & terminations, employee relations, performance management etc.
  • College or university degree. Candidates without a degree but with directly relevant experience may also be considered. 
  • 1 to 4 years of human resources job-related experience 
  • Effective communications skills to build rapport with stakeholders and develop a cooperative work relationship with others. Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and individuals.
  • Good organizational and planning ability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
