This exciting career opportunity will provide the platform to partner, as a Talent Adviser, with Caterpillar leaders, HR Managers and Hiring Managers to develop a creative, robust campus recruiting strategy while leading our campus and apprentice recruiting hiring process. 

 

We’re looking for someone to deliver a high-touch, personalized campus candidate experience and bring the right quality talent in the door. To accomplish this, you’ll need to:

  • Ensure we’re recruiting in all the right places – best campuses for our needs, hiring activities and events, effective social media and outreach and measure impact

  • Navigate the campus environments – stay current on trends, innovative campus recruiting strategies, develop strong relationships with faculty, staff and student organizations, and be able to flex as needed to build customized approaches

  • Understand your clients and customers – collaborate to evaluate recruiting needs for today and tomorrow with an eye to plan volume around future needs and skills gaps 

  • Appreciate the candidate pool – work to drive a phenomenal candidate experience from first-touch through internship and conversion; navigating any roadblocks along the way

  • Recognize the importance of measurements – collect, track and analyze to tell a full story

  • Utilize technology – Candidate Resource Management (CRM), Campus and Events Tool, video interviewing, ATS

 

Job responsibilities – some of the everyday things you’ll do:
  • You’ll be the primary recruiting contact to help attract, recruit and hire early engineering talent for our experiential (intern, co-op, apprentice) as well as our entry (post-graduating students) level programs and positions.  There’s also the potential to support the hiring for additional functional area
  • You’ll continually engage with your clients to understand their needs and deliver great candidates, and work closely with the campuses, showcasing Caterpillar
  • You’ll be challenged to be creative as you manage the candidate pipeline and recruiting campaigns using effective sourcing strategies – universities, clubs and organizations, social media, etc
  • You’ll need to maintain and ensure compliance with local recruitment policies & processes.
  • You’ll need to come up with creative ways to continuously engage your clients (internal and external) to ensure positive candidate and client satisfaction
  • You’ll need to be prepared for frequent travel throughout the region, with heightened travel requirements during peak recruiting seasons

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a University/College relations recruiter, Career Placement Advisor or in University / Campus Career Services / Corporate Relations
 
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Demonstrated relationship management with the capability to manage multiple internal customers with ease
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data including recruiting metrics


This position can be located anywhere in the United States including remote work for the right candidate or located at one of our Caterpillar facilities.  Therefore, relocation assistance is not available for this position.  Any relocation costs will be incurred by the candidate.
