Job Description


The ATMA Summer Intern Program is open to high school juniors and seniors. It allows students the opportunity to work at Caterpillar during the summer of 2020.

High School students considered for part time positions within the facilities engineering department should have a basic understanding of facilities engineering or manufacturing principles, logistics, and computer skills.

All positions require working in a team environment and demonstrating quality customer service. Responsibilities may vary, but may include: attending meetings, audits for the dept., standard work development, metric data review and or adjustments. Other administrative duties may be assigned.

Considerations include education or experience in the manufacturing, engineering or IT field. In addition, successful performance requires sound judgment, motivation, effective interaction with others and the ability to handle an array of responsibilities.

These positions are open to high school junior/senior students that are enrolled in the ATMA program at their school.

These are part time temporary openings located in the San Antonio, Seguin and Schertz areas.



Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age by March 1, 2020. 
  • Parental approval to apply and participate in the program
  • Must have and maintain a 2.0 / 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be a full time student attending a local high school and be enrolled in ATMA Program
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work at least 24 hours per week, for 8 weeks during the summer of 2020.
  • Demonstrated leadership

  • Participation in school clubs and organizations
  • Strong interest in manufacturing or IT fields. 

This is a paid position.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
