As an Environmental, Health and/or Safety Professional, you will serve as an experienced, individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that are complex in nature and that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance.

This position is responsible for supporting Caterpillar’s global hazardous materials inventory through the ongoing development and improvement of standards, programs and procedures related to Caterpillar’s hazardous material located within Caterpillar facilities.  This position collaborates with process partners to coordinate the development and execution of training to assist others in proactively anticipating the receipt, storage, usage and disposal, emissions and/or transfer off-site of hazardous material.  Key duties include the updating of Caterpillar standards to meet customers’ needs and the continuous improvement of process maps, tools and templates as they apply to hazardous material review, approval, tracking, managing and reporting.  This position leads the ongoing review, development and communication of a comprehensive Caterpillar hazardous material communication program that will give internal customers a competitive advantage through strategic hazardous material identification and control.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Identify applicable EHS regulations and evaluates impact to the facility
* Perform inspections and tests to verify compliance.
* Identify existing and potential EHS problems.
* Participate in developing corrective measures.
* Develop procedures to assure continuing compliance with regulations and organization standards.
* Develop management systems for EHS functions
* Perform EHS audits
* Develop EHS training programs
* Complete reports for submission to EPA or OSHA
* Monitor EHS performance and recommends priorities and actions for improvement.
* Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks and recommends modifications
before introduction.
* Collaborate with employees and supervisors to identify and mitigate EHS risks.
*Develop standards and work practices with line personnel and monitors conformance through EHS inspections.
* Ensure compliance with organization and government EHS standards.


Basic Qualifications:

*2 to 4 years Environment Health Safety experience

*Demonstrated experience in using strong analytical skills and strong technical leadership skills in job assignments

*Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively within a team

*A Bachelor Degree in an appropriate scientific discipline is highly desired
